Bookmen Lofts – Minneapolis

Project Complete

Greetings and welcome to your project blog for the upcoming painting project at Bookmen Lofts in Minneapolis. We are thrilled to be heading onsite to spruce up your exteriors.

Friday, September 16th: Greetings

The crew was onsite yesterday and are continuing to work on the ‘red phase’, which is the final phase of the project. We will continue to have the lift onsite until we complete the project, which we expect to finish up sometime next week. The rain today has caused some delays, but we are hopeful blue skies and sunshine will carry us through to the end!

The railing are looking good!

Tuesday, September 13th: Good afternoon residents of Bookmen Lofts! We hope you are enjoying an absolutely pristine late summer afternoon! Things are progressing according to plan and you’ve probably noticed that this week, there is some new equipment on site to help us complete the residence decks on the east elevation. Despite some chance of rain the latter part of the week, we are crossing our fingers that we can complete the lift work by the end of the week.  Thanks to everybody for their incredible cooperation throughout the project. You’ve been terrific to work with!

To alert the Bookmen residents of the work on tap for this week, we were trying to get Target Field to play this on the jumbotron.  Request denied.

Assessing the surface condition of the railings is the first step to determining the appropriate measures needed before product application

The team uses hand maskers to put down paper to prevent paint from getting on the deck floors.

Thursday, September 1st: Greeting!

Our crews are onsite, and working to complete the ground level patios in the visitor parking area. The anticipate completing the ‘green’ phase, as well as the ‘yellow’ phase by the end of this week.

Prepping the patios!

Monday, August 29th: Good Morning!

Our crews have completed the common area railings in the courtyard as well as 6th Ave. They are currently working on the patio railings on the 3rd level. Today they will also begin prepping the visitor parking lot railings. We ask homeowners to please remove your personal belongs so our crews have unobstructed access to railings in these areas.

Thursday, August 26th: Greetings!

The crew is continuing to work their way through the ‘green phase’. Today they continued with painting the common area railings on the ground level.

The railings are looking fresh!

Monday, August 22nd: Good Afternoon!

The crew is onsite as the continue to prep and prime the common area railings on the ground level.

Concentration is key!

Orbital sanders help the crew to get the railings prepped in a timely fashion.

Time to prime!

Friday, August 12th: Greetings Residents of Bookmen Lofts!

Welcome to your project blog for the upcoming painting project. We are looking forward to sprucing up your exteriors.

Our crew is scheduled to begin prepping & painting on Thursday, 8/18. We kindly request that homeowners please move personal items away from your balcony railings to allow for safe & unobstructed access while our crews are working onsite. If you do not move your contents, the crew will skip your unit and you may be subject to additional costs imposed by management / the association.

The project will be completed in several phases, which you can see on the route map at the top of the blog. We will start with the ‘green phase’. This will include the ground level and 3rd level common area railings and resident patios. We will work our way from 6th St, moving towards the courtyard, then to visitor parking (ground level only), and finally moving to the 3rd level. From there we will move into the ‘yellow phase’. This phase will include the rooftop top hand rails. Which brings us to the ‘orange phase’. This will include the balcony decks, starting in the courtyard, and moving to the third level balconies. Lastly, we have the ‘red phase’. This will include the balconies in the visitor parking area, and will require us to use a lift to access the units.

We anticipate the entire project will likely take approximately 4-5 weeks to complete. However, your individual unit will take much less time. Please be mindful that weather will likely impact our finishing schedule as well.

We understand this project will have an impact to your daily routine & we will do our best to complete the project promptly so everyone may return the contents to your deck and enjoy the remainder of the summer. In order to access the most up to date information, projected washing / painting schedule, or any other weather delays / impacts, please check back here frequently.

Please reach out to the contacts below if you have any questions.

We’re looking forward to getting started next week!
