Carrollwood HOA – Apple Valley 2017

Project Complete- albeit a few misc. items

Greetings and welcome to the official project blog for this summer’s painting project at Carrollwood in Apple Valley. We are thrilled to be back onsite with you!

Monday, August 21st: Happy Monday and Happy Total Solar Eclipse Day! Hopefully you got to safely view the eclipse today. The viewing was most optimal around 1:07pm today. We’ll see the next Total Solar Eclipse in 2024.

The crew is mostly wrapped up at Carrollwood albeit a few shutters left to paint. Thank you so much for having us onsite; it has been our pleasure working with and for you! We hope you have a great rest of the year!

Friday, August 18th: It seems we’re having a bit of déjà vu- rain and more rain, though tomorrow looks more promising! Lots of happenings around the Twin Cities ~ free movies in the park, numerous farmer’s markets, and the St. Paul food truck festival. We’re crossing our fingers for drier weekend weather!

Crossing our fingers for a drier week ahead!

Thursday, August 17th: It seems we’re having a bit of déjà vu. Mother Nature is continuing to be uncooperative with the pouring rain we’ve gotten. Stay tuned for further updates; thanks!

Wednesday, August 16th: Good morning! We got quite a bit of rain overnight and the surfaces are just too wet to paint. Your project is almost complete and the crew will resume when it’s dry enough to finish up the last few items. Thanks!

Tuesday, August 15th: Hello Carrollwood! We’re less than 10 days out from the start of the MN Fair and Today’s Al Roker has announced he’ll be onsite to live broadcast on opening day, August 24th. There’s a chance also to win tickets to the live broadcast. We can already smell the fried goodness.

The crew is wrapping up today with misc. painting throughout. Thank you so much for having us. It has been our pleasure working with and for you this summer. Have a great rest of the year!

Monday, August 14th: Good morning residents of Carrollwood! The crew will resume painting tomorrow. Thanks!

Wednesday, August 9th: Good morning! It seems as though Mother Nature has other plans than to continue painting your buildings today. Rain for the rest of today and potentially into tomorrow. We’ll keep you updated as to when the crew will return once the rain subsides and the substrates have had time to dry. Thanks!

Rain Delay @ Carrollwood

Monday, August 7th: Good morning and happy Monday! We hope you all had a great weekend!

The crew completed the pressure washing last Friday and is now back onsite beginning their prep and painting of the front entry railings. They are beginning on the 7766 Building on the East side of the association and will work on each building simultaneaoulsy.

Scraping and prepping the front railings.

Thorough prep yields a smooth and adhereable surface for painting.

Wednesday, August 2nd: Good afternoon residents of Carrollwood and welcome to your project blog!

This year we will be painting the front entry railings of 13 selected units. We will also be painting all of the shutters throughout the association.

We’ll begin with the railing portion of the project with pressure washing and then painting of the railings. This will begin on Friday with pressure washing. We ask that homeowners in these units please remove all small personal belongings and decorations from the outside of your home during the pressure washing. Once those surfaces have dried out, the crew will be back to prep and finish the front entry railings. We anticipate the crew to be back to begin prep on Monday, 8/7.

For the shutter portion of the project, the crew will hand clean them and then paint them to a common color: black. Please be mindful of ladders when we begin this portion of the project. We anticipate the entire project to take about a week to complete. Stay tuned right here on the blog for progress updates, scheduling information, and any changes or delays to the schedule due to weather.

Thanks and we’ll see you later this week!
