QUICK SMILE THEN BACK TO PAINTING THE WINDOW TRIM.

WHAT GOES UP, MUST COME DOWN!

Friday, June 9th: Happy Friday! James Corden is always up to something and that something is usually pretty funny. He recently put together a surprise for Tom Cruise while he was in London. Corden pitched the idea of ‘Tom’s Cruise on The River Thames Cordon.’ This included puns of all kinds relating to all things Tom Cruise and James himself while aboard the “cruise” ship. The duo even karaoke’d to ‘Lovin’ Feeling’ from Top Gun! Check out the video to get your Friday started off with some fun!

Another sunny day and the crews are hard at work and trying to beat the heat! Tomorrow is going to be a scorcher- stay cool and have a great weekend!

PREP, PREP, PREP AND THEY WE’LL BEING SPRAYING THE SIDING.

HOLA SALVADOR!! A QUICK WAVE AND THEN IT’S BACK TO PREPPING!

CARLOS IS MAKING SURE THE WINDOWS ARE THOROUGHLY COVERED BEFORE PAINTING.

Thursday, June 8th: Greetings and happy Thursday! It was exciting night last night for the Golden State Warriors and unfortunately a heartbreaking night for Cavaliers as Golden State brought their team to a 3-0 lead in the finals. Game 4 will be played tomorrow night in Cleveland and we can’t predict the future, but we’d say it’s a safe bet that Golden State has it in the bag.

Four more buildings have started today (31-34) with prep work and painting. We are hopeful to start 35 & 36 tomorrow, but that could change so stay tuned.

Wednesday, June 7th: Hello Laketown! Today would have made Prince 59 years old; however, he wasn’t one to celebrate birthdays. In a 1999 Dutch TV interview, Prince thoughtfully explained that choosing not to celebrate one’s birthday, stops him from counting days and then stops him from counting time and allows him to remain young. It’s an interesting perspective- choose to celebrate his birthday if you wish, maybe blast Purple Rain or don a Raspberry Beret.

We’ve updates the finishing schedule above to include prep and painting dates for the remaining 3 Buildings. If this weather holds, it looks like we’ll wrap up by early next week- hats off to the crews!!

BALANCE AND PREP WORK ARE FEATURED IN THIS PICTURE!

Tuesday, June 6th: Good afternoon! For all the hockey fans out there, we’ve got ourselves quite the match up. The Nashville Predators won 2 in a row at home against the Pittsburgh Penguins to tie the score to 2-2. Up next, the teams will face-off on Thursday in Pittsburgh. They’ll alternate home ice for games 5, 6, and potentially 7. In NBA Finals news, the Golden State Warriors are up 2-0 in the series and the teams will face off on Wednesday in Cleveland. 4 wins will take the championship!

The Laketown crew is cruising along- more pressure washing, prep, and painting happening at Buildings 23-32.

NOE HAS NO FEARS WHEN IT COMES TO HEIGHTS AND LADDERS!

Monday, June 5th: Good morning Laketown! We hope you all enjoyed the gorgeous weather we had this weekend! We’ve updated the finishing schedule- posted above. The crews are working hard and are ahead of schedule: Buildings 23, 24, and 25 are beginning prep and painting today and then 26, 27, and potentially 28 will begin tomorrow.

*Update- we’ve added several buildings to be prepped and painted mid-to-late this week. Check out the updated schedule posted above.

CUTTING AROUND THE EDGES OF THE SHUTTERS WITH PRECISION!

Friday, June 2nd: TGIF! It’s Friday, it’s beautiful out, and it’s National Donut Day! Though we’re the first to argue that all the food holidays (National Cherry Popsicle Day is Aug. 26, in case you were wondering) are getting out of control, National Donut Day actually has legit history behind it. And it’s hard to resist a real reason to eat a doughnut. The day was created in 1938 to honor the Salvation Army “Donut Girls” who served doughnuts to soldiers on the front lines of World War I. We can toast a donut to that! Here’s a list of several in the Twin Cities if you need a little help finding those treats!

*Update for Saturday- Building #21 will get started with prep and painting.

We’ve made one change to the schedule for today- Building #20 started prep & painting today. Otherwise, the crew are right on schedule with pressure washing, prepping, and painting. Have a great weekend!

Thursday, June 1st: Happy first day of June! We hope you’re as excited as we are that June is off to a great start with sunshine and 80 degree temperatures!

We’ve updated the finshing schedule with dates for pressure washing the remaining few buildings as well as start dates for prep and painting for buildings 19-28. The crews are doing a fantastic job of staying on schedule and even beating the schedule!

Wednesday, May 31st: We can’t believe May is coming to a close and June is right around the corner. We’re hopeful the new month will bring more sunshine and less rain and if today is any indication of that- we’ll take it! This warmer weather has us eager to use our outdoor grills and bbq! Thrillist’s list of ‘100 Best Burgers In America’ is out and Minnesota takes 4 of the spots. At #100, is Matt’s Bar’s Juicy Lucy, #86 is the Paddy Shack Burger from Half-Time Rec, #47 is the Parlour Burger, and #40 is Sainte Dinette’s cheeseburger. Looks like we having some tasting to do!

All hands on deck @ Laketown! We have several updates to the finishing schedule, posted above- all good things, don’t worry. We’ve moved up the schedule for several buildings to begin prep and painting this week as well as early next week.

Tuesday, May 30th: We hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed the Holiday. And then just a few short days and we’ll have another weekend. Art Fair season is upon us as the Edina Art Fair kicks off on Friday. There are 280 local, national, and international artists as well as lots of live music, food, drinks, and even activities for the kiddos. Check out their website for all the need-to-know information.

Today the crews have started on Buildings 9, 10, and 11 with prep and painting. They’ll start 12 and 13 on Wednesday and then 14, 15, and 16 on Thursday. Keep checking the schedule above as we’ll continue to update that daily.

ANOTHER ROUND OF PRESSURE WASHING TODAY: BUILDINGS 14, 15, & 16.

Friday, May 26th: TGIF!! As we’re all anxiously awaiting a 3-day weekend, we want to take a moment and say thank you to our service men and women who tirelessly serve and protect our country. We will also remember and honor those brave souls who have died in service.

We’ve got several crews out at Laketown and they are all crusing along! We’ve updated the finishing schedule this afternoon and have added pressure washing and start dates for Buildings #12-19. We’ll also be posting notices onsite in the next day to alert home owners we’ll be at their building presure washing. We ask that you make sure your exterior water spigots are turned on and that you remove all belongings from the outside of your home. Thanks so much!

Have a great weekend!

WE ARE LOVING THE SLIGHTLY BRIGHTER PAINT ON THE GARAGE DOORS!

LADDER WORK TO SPRAY THE TOP PORTIONS OF SIDING.

QUITE THE BALANCING ACT!

Thursday, May 25th: Good afternoon Laketown! Today is turning out to be the best day of the week yet! Not to get ahead of ourselves, but guess how many weeks until the State Fair? 13 weeks! There will be an exciting addition to this year’s festival- a 156 foot Ferris Wheel. The Great Big Wheel is one of the tallest traveling Ferris Wheels in North America and will take 12 trucks to get to MN. There are 36 buckets that can each hold 6 people, so the more the merrier! If you seek the thrill of high heights, this one’s for you!

We’ve posted an updated finishing schedule, see above. Buildings 1 and 3 will be completed today and Building 2 will likely finish today, but may have a few touch ups tomorrow. Building 4 is complete and Building 5 and 6 will start prep and painting tomorrow. With all the rain we’ve had, our schedule has been pushed back a bit, but we’re hopeful to be on a stretch of better weather and potentially make it up.

Wednesday, May 24th: Hello and Happy Hump Day!

AN OLDIE, BUT A GOODIE!

Our busy bees are all business at Laketown. They’re continuing to paint the first grouping of buildings of the project and should finish up on several tomorrow.

LADDER PARTY.

BRUSH & ROLL, BRUSH & ROLL.

WE LIKE THOSE BLUE SKIES AS OUR WORKING BACKDROP.

Tuesday, May 23rd: Good afternoon residents of Laketown! We hope you enjoy the sunny weather yesterday because Mother Nature is back in full force owning the weather game.

Regardless of the rain, we can’t believe it’s almost June and that Memorial Day is right around the corner. I think we can all say we’re looking forward to a 3-day weekend! Let’s just play ‘Working For The Weekend’ on repeat until Friday?! Ready, Go!

The crews are working to get in as much prep and painting as they can, should there be some rain. They are prepping soffit areas and front doors as well as rolling on the siding paint and paint entry doors.

Monday, May 22nd: Happy Monday to you all! We are thrilled that Mother Nature has had a change of heart and blessed us with a sunny day! We’ll take it, even if for a day before we’re the weather is back to being variable.

Can you believe the Titanic was released 20 years ago?! To celebrate this milestone, Celine Dion sang ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at the Billboard Music Awards last night. And if you got chills hearing it for the first time, that same feeling is back in full force. Celine is overly talented and sang with such poise and grace. If you missed it, check it out here.

The crews are out in full force and soaking up the sun as they continue their prep work and then begin painting.

Friday, May 19th: April Showers…bring…wait! May comes in like a lion and out like a, er um….The point is, all bets are off at Laketown with Mother Nature asserting her full dominance and gnashing her teeth at the fellas in White! Perhaps to mourn all this rain, we should have the guys wear black instead. As much as we are eternal optimists at Roell Painting, the immediate horizon doesn’t look too promising either with rain threatening the next few days as well!!! On the bright side, your grass will be extremely satiated.

We will be watching intently as the weather unfolds and we will keep you fully apprised as to when our work can and will resume in full force! Officially, we’ll be glued to the doppler radar, the weather channel, and all of our favorite weather apps! Unofficially, we can rely on our favorite NOSTALGIC weatherman for the WEATHER REPORT.

Weather permitting, we will see you on Monday bright eyed and bushy tailed! Have a great weekend!

Thursday, May 18th: Here we are again… though we’re hopeful that we can get back to some prep work tomorrow. Stay tuned as we’ll have to see how the weather pans out.

DWIGHT FROM THE OFFICE PULLS THROUGH WITH A JOKE TO EASE THE PAIN OF A WEEK’S WORTH OF RAIN.

Wednesday, May 17th: Deja vu for us today with the rainy weather. Our crews will not be onsite today as the rain has left everything pretty wet. And even though the humid weather is on the rise, it seems as though there is rain forecasted for this afternoon. Thanks for sticking with us as we just can’t control the weather and we’ll keep you updated right here on the blog!

Tuesday, May 16th: With the rain and moisture from today and the projected rain for tomorrow, we’ll be back once the exteriors have dried out a bit and are ready for painting. We’ve posted a revised finishing schedule that takes into account the rain.

In the meantime, here’s the Will & Grace trailer that was released yesterday from NBC to perk up this rainy morning. The 12-episode revival kicks off this fall on NBC!

Monday, May 15th: Hello residents of Laketown! We started 4 crews on the first 4 Buildings this morning with prep work. Since the weather doesn’t seem to be in our favor today, we’ll press pause on painting and we’ll be back when everything’s had enough time to thoroughly dry out.

RAIN DELAY @ LAKETOWN

AND WE’RE OFF  AND RUNNING… UNTIL THE RAIN, OF COURSE!

4 CREWS TO START @ LAKETOWN.

Wednesday, May 10th: And they’re off! The crews are out of the gate and getting right to work. They’re starting the pressure washing phase of your project. They’ll be making their way around to Buildings 1-6 and pressure washing. The crews are hopeful to finish them all today. If not, they’ll wrap up tomorrow. Once the buildings are washed, they’ll need ample time to completely dry out. With that said, the crews will be back on Monday to start prep and painting Buildings 1-6.

Mother’s Day is a short 4 days away, so here’s your official head’s up to get that card for your mom, grandma, aunt, godmother, sister, and all those who share their love, patience, and guidance with us!

City Pages has posted a list of all of the free activities in Minneapolis Parks this summer. Now that the weather is starting to feel more like Spring, planning to watch live music or a movie in the park is a reality. Check it out!

Tuesday, May 9th: Hello residents of Laketown! It’s Tivia Tuesday- Who recently tweeted that they’ll be commemorating the 20th anniverary of the movie Titanic at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards? If you guessed Canadian superstar Celine Dion, you are correct! She will be singing “My Heart Will Go On” on May 21st to honor the 1997 film.

Tomorrow we’ll get the green light and be off and running with pressure washing Buildings #1-6. We’ll be at the property washing buildings from tomorrow through Friday. Just a reminder to remove any personal belongings from the outside of your home and please turn on your exterior water spigot. Thank you in advance & we’ll see you tomorrow!

Friday, May 5th: Happy Cino de Mayo!! We are celebrating the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory over the French forces at the Battle of Puebla. We are celebrating Mexican culture with a fiesta lunch for our crews at Roell Painting this afternoon. We want to celebrate Mexican history and have a little fun as well!!

It’s happening… we have a start date for your project @ LCA! We’ll begin next week on Wednesday, 5/10 pressure washing Buildings #1-6, please see above for number designation. If you haven’t already done so, please turn on your exterior water spigot and remove all personal belongings from the outside of your home. The crew will pressure wash Wednesday through Friday and then we’re planning to start the prep and painting of the siding on those buildings on Monday, 5/15.

Keep checking the blog for further updates or any changes if they occur. We hope you have a great weekend and we’ll see you onsite next week!

Thursday, May 4th:

Very fittingly, today is Star Wars Day!  Jedi and Stormtroopers alike are celebrating this iconic film franchise today. Grab your light sabers and celebrate with some trivia, watch one of the films, or check out this video Jimmy Fallon put together- it’s Star Wars characters singing “All Star” by Smash Mouth.

We’ve had a few inquiries and questions regarding the scope of work for your project and we wanted to clarify that decks and screen frames are not included in the project. We’ll be painting most other exterior surfaces and you can see in the post below those specifics.

We’re working to get things started shortly and we look forward to being onsite and working with and for you! Stay tuned for further updates!

Monday, April 10th: Greetings residents of Laketown and welcome to your project blog. We are glad you found us! As the weather is slowly warming up, we are nearing the start of your exterior painting project.

The scope of work entails painting the siding, trim, windown trim, front door/frames, garage doors/frames, shutters, and pillars- basically the entire exterior, but excluding decks and screenframes.

Stay tuned right here on the blog for an official start date, finishing schedule, and any & all other pertinent information regarding your project. Once we get underway, the blog will be updated 2-3 times per week to reflect progress, pictures, and any changes if needed to the schedule.

So for now, just hang tight and enjoy the spring weather!
