The crew will be back onsite tomorrow to complete a few remaining touch ups as well as paint the remaining doors.
#MOMQUOTES from Jimmy Fallon and just in time for Mother’s Day!
Thursday, May 11th: Happy Thursday and cheers to a beautiful Minnesota day! Today happens to be the state’s 159th Birthday. Minnesota joined the union back in 1858. Today we can celebrate all things Minnesota: 10,000 Lakes, Uff-da & Fargo references, hot dishes, Vikings loyalties, and all the snow!
The crew is wrapping up the 3rd and final building today! Thank you all so much for having us. It has been our privilege working with and for you.
Have a great rest of the year!
Wednesday, May 10th: Hopefully you packed an umbrella in your car if you were out and about this afternoon. Looks like it’ll be rainy for another hour or so. Before the rain started, the crew was painting on the 3rd Building and hoping to finish; however, this rain may have pushed them back a half day.
Mother’s Day is a short 4 days away, so here’s your official head’s up to get that card for your mom, grandma, aunt, godmother, sister, and all those who share their love, patience, and guidance with us!
City Pages has posted a list of all of the free concerts in Minneapolis Parks this summer. Now that the weather is starting to feel more like Spring, planning to watch live music in the park is a reality. Check it out!
Tuesday, May 9th: Trivia Tuesday- Who recently tweeted that they’ll be commemorating the 20th anniverary of the movie Titanic at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards? If you guessed Canadian superstar Celine Dion, you are correct! She will be singing “My Heart Will Go On” on May 21st to honor the 1997 film.
Back at it @ Barrington. The crew is working on 5370-5372 Building with finishing the prep and also painting. We’re anticipating with this stretch of great weather they’ll finish up by week’s end!
Here are a few pictures from yesterday:
Monday, May 8th: Good afternoon and happy Monday! We hope you all enjoyed the gorgeous weather we had over the weekend! And the good news is that it’s sticking around for a bit!
You may see some blue tape around and on buildings 5340-5342 & 5360-5362. Please leave the tape as is; the site supervisor placed the tape to designate an area that needs to be touched up or cleaned up. The crew is working on these touch ups today and then they’ll begin prepping and painting 5370-5372 tomorrow.
We’re currently working on getting some pictures from the crew.
Friday, May 5th: Happy Cino de Mayo!! We are celebrating the Mexican Army’s unlikely victory over the French forces at the Battle of Puebla. We are celebrating Mexican culture with a fiesta lunch for our crews at Roell Painting this afternoon. We want to celebrate Mexican history and have a little fun as well!!
The crew at Barrington is continuing on Building 5360-5362 Barrington Way and they hope to finish it tomorrow. Then they’ll be onto the last building- 5370-5372 Barrington Way. It looks like a beautiful weekend ahead! Have a great weekend!
Thursday, May 4th:
Very fittingly, today is Star Wars Day! Jedi and Stormtroopers alike are celebrating this iconic film franchise today. Grab your light sabers and celebrate with some trivia, watch one of the films, or check out this video Jimmy Fallon put together- it’s Star Wars characters singing “All Star” by Smash Mouth.
The crew is wrapping up Building 2 today and then will begin their prep work on the last Building.
Wednesday, May 3rd: Finally, this spring weather is showing up! Just a few days left until the 143rd Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. This Saturday, the Garland of Roses will be awarded for what’s famed to be the “Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports.” So don an extravagant hat & schmancy apparel and grab a Mint Julep to watch the big race. Check out the horses, betting odds, “Derby” party must-haves, and Derby trivia at their official site!
We’re glad to be back and reporting project progress after the last few days of rain and weather delays.
The crew is working on the 2nd Building- 5360-5362 Barrington Way- and should finish it by tomorrow afternoon. They’ll then begin to prep and paint the 3rd and final Building- 5370-5372 Barrington Way.
Here’s to a longer stretch of warmer and drier weather!
Friday, April 28th: So we’re not very lucky…though there are sunny, blue skies, it’s not quite warm enough to paint. We want to make sure that the surfaces are completely dry before we paint and the cooler weather just doesnt accelerate the drying process quickly enough. We’ll keep an eye on the weather and keep you updated on any further delays/updates to the schedule. Thanks!
We do have one bit of good news, it’s Friday and we hope you have a great weekend!
A little “Canned Heat” by Jamiroquai to get the weekend started right! Who doesn’t love Napolean Dynamite?
Thursday, April 27th: Were those really snow flurries? We can’t bare to face these curveballs Mother Nature is throwing at us. So, unfortunately with the moisture and low temperatures we are going to put a stop on our work for today.
It looks as though we’ll have better fortune tomorrow! Until then, stay dry & warm!
Tuesday, April 25th: Good afternoon residents of Barrington. We hope you’re staying dry on this rainy, spring day.
Everything can’t be rainbows… but you can have a Unicorn Frappuccino from Starbucks. Maybe you’ve heard about the latest beverage craze from Seattle’s finest, a pink and blue blended drink that is both sweet and sour. Pictures and opinions of this drink have been all over social media. Apparently there is more to come for coloful and sweet drinks; the latest we heard there is now a Dragon Frappuccino and a Unicorn Lemonade. We haven’t gotten our hands on any of the colorful drinks, so we’ll leave you do do the taste test.
While you’re busy dreaming of the Unicorn Frapp, the crew at Barrington is racing Mother Nature to get in a full day’s work. The crew will complete the 1st building by day’s end and potentially start prep on the 2nd, weather premitting.
Friday, April 21st: Happy Friday everyone! We are so glad to see the sun is back! Today we are reminded of our beloved Prince and his creativity, success, and the mark he left on the music world and also Minneapolis. Today is the one year anniversary of his death and there are many celebrations to honor his life and legacy happening around the Twin Cities this weekend. Paisley Park has numerous events to celebrate our purple star. Also, First Avenue is hosting a late-night dance party from 10pm-4am tonight if that’s your jam!
If you can’t make any of the celebrations, here’s a clip of Prince’s Superbowl Halftime performance from 2007. Turn it up and Let’s Go Crazy!
The crew at Barrington is basking in the sunshine while finally getting some painting going. With all of this rain, we’ll do our very best to stay on schedule and get your project completed quickly and efficiently.
Thursday, April 20th: Good Morning- we’ve got another Rain Delay at Barrington. Unfortunately we can’t get Mother Nature on our payroll so we’ll be back when the weather clears up.
I’m going to keep this brief because our office team is headed to the CAI- MN Expo today. We’ll be meeting with property managers, vendors, and all of the hard working people that keep associations like yours running smoothly! Check out our Project Blog “CAI-MN Expo” to follow us throughout the day. It is 80s themed so don’t mind the Michael Jackson, Blondie, Madonna, or Prince narrating our experience! You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
Tuesday, April 18th: Rain Delay
Monday, April 17th:
We hope you all had a great weekend. Maybe you have some Easter candy leftover and if you do, maybe you’d be interested in trying a “Peepza.” Apparently, there is some controversy over what should and shouldn’t be put on a pizza and there are opinions on everything from pineapple to peanut butter to Peeps. Over the weekend, Twitter was buzzing with photos and opinions on the melted neon-flecked Peeps on pizza. Check in out for yourself.
While you contemplate whether marshmallows belong on pizza, the crew at Barrington is pressure washing the 3 buildings inlcuded in this spring’s project. Once everything is dry, they’ll be back to start the painting. It looks like there’s some rain in the forecast for this week as well, so stay tuned if there are any rain delays.
Wednesday, April 12th: That was quite the April Fool’s joke that Mother Nature played on us with the snow… at least all remnants have melted away and we’re slowly getting back to warmer weather and sunshine!
Project Update: we’ll be pressure washing the three designated buildings on Monday, April 17th. In preparation for the pressure washing, we kindly ask you to remove any belongings from the exterior of your home and please turn on exterior water spigots. We’re anticipating the pressure washing will take 2 days to complete.
After the included areas have been washed, the substrates will need some time to dry. Once fully dry, the crews will be back to begin prepping and painting. We are tentatively planning to begin prep and painting on select homes on Wednesday, April 19th, with weather also playing a factor.
Check back, right here on the blog, for updates, a more finalized finishing schedule, and any weather delays if they occur. We utilize our blog to reflect progress made, share photos, and keep you apprised of vital information.
Monday, April 10th: Greetings and welcome to the official blog for your painting project! As the weather continues to warm up, we’re nearing the start of your project. This year’s scope of work will entail pressure washing, and the prep & painting of three buildings. The buildings designated for painting are: 5340-5342 Barrington Way, 5360-5362 Barrington Way, and 5370-5372 Barrington Way. We’ll bascially be painting all exterior surfaces, excluding decking, porches, and brick.
Stay tuned right here on the blog for further updates regarding an official start date, schedule, and any other pertinent information to your project! Once things get underway, we’ll be updating the blog 2-3 times per week to reflect progress made, pictures, and any changes if come up.
Until then, just hang tight and enjoy this warmer weather!
