Tuesday, February 25th: Greetings and good afternoon!

The crew has completed their first round of bondo/sanding this morning and then sprayed the first side of the cabinet doors and drawers with the 1st coat on enamel. They will continue tomorrow to spray the 2nd side of the doors and drawers. We are moving right along!

1st coat of enamel is complete.

Monday, February 24th: Hello and happy Monday!

After prepping areas last week and beginning to prep and paint wall in various areas, we are back onsite to begin refinishing the cabinets. The crew has constructed a spray shop in the basement to allow for our crew and the floor crew to work simultaneously. Today, they first sprayed the primer on the front sides of the doors and drawers and then returned this afternoon to spray the backside.

Tomorrow they’ll begin filling in the wood grains and then sanding it smooth. This will decrease the visibility of the wood grains.

Our spray area is carefully taped off and covered with plastic.

1st side is complete with primer.

Flipped to the backside.

Primed and ready to go!

The spray shop is all set up and the primer is in action.

Tuesday, February 18th: Good morning!

Welcome to the project blog for this kitchen enamel and wall painting project. We are excited to share the process from start to finish for you!

There are several moving pieces for this home project and we’ll be getting started with prep and removal of the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers and setting up an onsite spray shop. This will allow the flooring vendor full access to kitchen for install and our crew can prep, prime, sand/bondo, and enamel the doors and drawers in a separate area of the home.

Once the flooring install is complete, we’ll resume our prime, sand/bondo, and enameling of the kitchen cabinet boxes.

We will also be prepping and painting most wall surfaces and will begin that right away as we have access to certain areas of the home.

You can continue to follow the project’s progress here on the blog. We’ll be prepping, removing doors & drawers, and setting up our spray shop over the next two days and will resume with priming the surfaces on Monday, 2/24. Thanks!

Don’t forget about the hardware!

Labeling the doors and drawers so they can be easily rehung.

Removing the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers.

Progress in the kitchen – the doors are coming down!
