Private Residence – Interior Repaint & Enamel Project, Minnetonka

Prep & Painting IN PROGRESS

Greetings and welcome to the project blog for this residential interior painting and enamel project. We’re thrilled to be sharing the project progress with you!

Friday, November 22nd: Hello and TGIF!

The crew has been racing the clock and coordinating their work with other trades in the home— there are a few remaining areas to be prepped and painted, which will be done this weekend. We’re happy to have taken you on this journey of completion as we prepared this home for it’s new homeowners. Thanks for following along!

Monday, November 18th: Good afternoon!

We’ve made out move to the main level and are prepping areas for painting the millwork, walls, and built ins. Once these areas are prepped we’ll begin to spray the enamel.

More prep – paper, plastic, and more tape.

Mask and suit – check. Spraying enamel in the bathroom.

Prepping and caulking around the living room built in.

Friday, November 15th: Hello and TGIF!

The crew is wrapping up in the lower level with wall painting and are working on the stairs going from the main level to the lower level. More specifically, we’re working to cover the graining of the wood with the darker stain color. Isaac shares some insight into gel stain vs using an enamel paint with a varnish sealer over the top. Thanks for watching!

Wednesday, November 13th: Greetings!

The crew has started to prep and paint the lower level walls and also begin their work on gel staining the handrail. They’ll likely wrap up the wall painting and the lower level items by tomorrow. We are waiting for the floor crew to wrap up then we’ll move to the main level to complete the trim, walls, and select cabinetry —- and we’re thinking this will be Sunday or Monday.

We’ll first cut around the edges and the brush and roll the wall paint.

Tuesday, November 12th: Good evening!

The crew has been prepping and readying the lower level for painting the ceilings, trim refresh, and then finally walls. We’re continuing to collaborate with the flooring crew to make our move to the main level.

Friday, November 8th: Hello and TGIF!

The crew is getting started today in the lower level. There is flooring installation in progress on the main level so the crew will be kicking off the project with prep, read lots of covering with paper, plastic, and taping off edges before they begin to prime the millwork, complete the ceilings, walls, and also gel stain the handrails.

They’ll be working in the lower level until the early to mid part of next week, and will then move to the main floor to complete the millwork, ceilings, and walls.

Here are a few ‘before’ photos we took while onsite getting the crew started. Thanks for following along and we’re looking forward to sharing the process!
