Final Door Painting – Saturday, 9/2

Tuesday, August 29th: Good afternoon residents of Prairie Oaks! We’ll be back onsite on Saturday, 9/2 from 9am until 2pm painting your residence doors. We ask that homeowners are home during this time so we can paint the door while in the open position. Once painted, the doors will require at least 2 hours to remain open and dry properly. If you’d like to request a specific time, please call our office at 763-559-5296 or comment below with your address and time requested. If you are not home or do not make an appointment we will paint your door in the closed position.

Thanks is advance for your participation and cooperation!

Monday, August 21st: Happy Monday and Happy Total Solar Eclipse Day! Here’s a link with all things related to the eclipse and safe viewing in MN. Anyone else have Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ playing on repeat in their head?!

The crew wrapped up painting on Saturday. We’ll complete a walk through as touch ups as necessary in the next several days! Thank you again for having us and we hope you enjoy your newly painted buildings!

Friday, August 18th: It seems we’re having a bit of déjà vu- rain and more rain, though tomorrow looks more promising! Lots of happenings around the Twin Cities ~ free movies in the park, numerous farmer’s markets, and the St. Paul food truck festival. We’re crossing our fingers for drier weekend weather!

Crossing our fingers for a drier week ahead!

Thursday, August 17th: Rain, rain, go away… it seems Mother Nature has alternate plans than for us continue painting your buildings. We’re hoping for clearer skies tomorrow so we can get back to it! Stay tuned!

Wednesday, August 16th:

Rain Delay @ Prairie Oaks

Tuesday, August 15th: Hello Prairie Oaks! We’re less than 10 days out from the start of the MN Fair and Today’s Al Roker has announced he’ll be onsite to live broadcast on opening day, August 24th. There’s a chance also to win tickets to the live broadcast. We can already smell the fried goodness.

Today the crew is painting one of the buildings that was mistinted. We want to make sure we get the color just right.

Taping and prepping, round two.

The crew is spraying and backrolling the paint onto the siding.

Friday, August 11th: TGIF! After 2 rain days, the crew is back onsite and in much more welcomed conditions! It looks like we’re going to have some gorgeous weather today and tomorrow!

The crew is working on carpentry repairs on rotted wood pieces on the buildings today.

The finished product! Great job guys!

Carpentry replacement in progress @ Prairie Oaks.

Tuesday, August 8th: Hello and good morning! As we continue into August, the reality of back to school and the ‘end of summer’ is creeping closer. If you haven’t had a chance to go to a movie in the park, this week there are several options from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation: Ghostbusters, Drop Dead Gorgeous, and Moana. Movies begin 15 minutes after sunset.

Yesterday the crew worked to replace rotted or damaged wood on your homes. Today they’re beginning their prep and finishing of the last building, 2618 and 2620.

Replacing rotted siding boards.

Santiago replaces the siding.

Santiago and Christian scrape the last building.

Luis completes prep work on the front elevation.

Monday, August 7th: Good afternoon and happy Monday! We hope you all had a great weekend!

The crew is continuing their prep and painting on Building 2612/2614 and trying to work around some wasp hives.

Friday, August 4th: Hello and TGIF! It’s a beautiful day and we’ve made it to the weekend! There’s a lot happening around the cities this weekend. The Uptown and Powderhorn Art Festivals are happening throughout the weekend, various farmer’s markets, and if you’re up for traveling a bit, Wefest is taking Detroit Lakes by storm with their stellar line up of country starts! Have a great weekend!

The crew is continuing prep and painting on Building 2612/2614.

Santiago sprays on the siding color.

Hermes brush and rolls on the primer.

Thursday, August 3rd: Good morning residents of Prairie Oaks. We’ve got some rain rolling through so our crews are on hold. If it happens to clear up and then dry out enough to paint, we’ll let you know. Thanks!

Wednesday, August 2nd: Hello! We’ve made it to the middle of the week. It looks like we might get some rain tomorrow, so we’ll keep you posted on any weather/rain delays.

The crew is wrapping up the first building and will begin prep and painting on the 2606/2608 Building today as well.

Cristian reattaches the gutter on Building #1.

Alex paints the window frame.

Tuesday, August 1st: Good morning! Tonight is National Night Out. It is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and strengthening neighborhood camaraderie. This is all done in an effort to promote safer and more caring places to live. So check out what your neighborhood has planned and join in National Night Out!

Monday, July 31st: Good afternoon residents of Prairie Oaks! We hope you all had a great weekend! And just like that we’re closing out July and heading into August. Man how the time flies!

The crew is prepping the first building for painting. They’re scraping, priming, and covering surfaces on the 2600/2602 Building.

Scraping the front elevations.

Alex and Luis prime select areas for painting.

Friday, July 28th: Good morning and happy Friday!!

And they’re off! The crew will be pressure washing your buildings today. After they’ve had ample time to dry out, they’ll be back to begin the prep work and painting portion of th project.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Thursday, July 27th: Hello and welcome to your project blog for this year’s project at Prairie Oaks. We are looking forward to being onsite! The project will include washing and painting select areas on the exterior of your home including: siding, fascia, window trim, door frames, chimney chases, wood railings, entry support pillars and lattice.

We’ll begin with pressure washing your buildings tomorrow 7/29. We kindly ask that you move any small and/or personal items from the outside of your home/deck to allow for safe and unobstructed access for washing and painting. It is not necessary to completely clear your deck of its contents.

Once the substrates have had adequate time to dry, the crew will return to begin prepping and finishing of the included surfaces. We anticipate that prep & painting will start on the first building on Monday, July 31st.

Once the crew gets going with prepping and painting, we anticipate the entire project to take approximately 10-14 days to complete, but may be affected by weather. The best way to stay up to date on project status, progress, and any delays is right here on the blog.

Thanks so much and we’re looking forward to getting started tomorrow!
