Monday, August, 25th: Greetings all – we’re substantially wrapped up on the project – we have certainly appreciated your support this summer and we hope that you have a great rest of your summer and are enjoying the cooler weather here in Minnesota.

Thursday, August 21st: We’re working on the parking garage doors on Building #3 today – we appreciate your patience as we work to get the job done right! We know the State Fair is starting in the neighborhood and we hope you enjoy the best days of summer in St. Paul at the fairground!

Monday, August 18th: Hi all – we are planning to finish up on Building #3 this week. Today we are rain delayed – we will be back tomorrow, weather permitting.

Wednesday, August 6th: Hello all – there was an inquiry about whether residents can remove the plastic from their windows and balconies for all the Bigos buildings. At this time, we would ask that you leave the plastic in place. If it is still up that means work isn’t complete in that area. The crew will remove the plastic as soon as it’s no longer necessary. We appreciate your patience!

Monday, August 4th: Hello all – we’re onsite working on building #2 and #3 this week and really cruising through the painting work. No new updates at this time – we hope to have an update for you next Monday with what is remaining. We hope you have a good week!

Wednesday, July 30th: Hello all – On Building #2 the front is complete and we are working on the north side. The second crew is on Building #3 and is about half complete and is at the west courtyard. There are select areas on buildings that we will have to return to paint after another contractor completes carpentry repairs, so even though we have 2-3 weeks left of painting we may be returning later in fall / or when that work is completed.

Wednesday, July 23rd: Hello all – we have a bit of rain today but we are planning to begin the prep and painting on Thursday, July 24th. Here’s hoping we get a nice dry stretch of weather!

Thursday, July 17th: We are back at it today and grateful for the day without rain and hoping for a good stretch for us to keep cruising on the project work!

Wednesday, July 16th: We will not be onsite today due to rain. We are planning to begin washing of the 3rd building on Monday 7/21. Hope y’all stay dry today!

Wednesday, July 9th: Greetings all – the garage door work is in progress today, albeit with a late start due to doors being in use, but we’re in business now! The pressure washing is in effect on Building #2 as well as lots more painting on Building #1. Check out the photos below – you can really see the building pop against the blue summer sky!

Today our team was onsite performing a Carpentry Walk – check out this project update video from the Project Manager, Danielle.

We hope you all have a great rest of the week – we’ll have more progress updates in the next day or so and will let you know if the crew plans on working this upcoming weekend.

Tuesday, July 8th: This is an update to let you know that the garage doors for the entrance and exit on Spencer RD (1412 Building) will be down starting tomorrow 7/9/2025 for 24 hours in order to allow painting to occur. Additionally, we will be painting the service doors as well. We hope to have some more photos from the project tomorrow during the Carpentry Walk.

Monday, July 7th: Hello all – we are still planning to pressure wash Building #2 this week on 7/9. Additionally, there is a meeting scheduled with the project team for a Carpentry Walk-Building 1390 & 1392 on Wednesday as well so the larger RPC team will be onsite. We hope to get some progress photos during the walkthrough and some action shots as well. We hope you had a good holiday and are excited to continue working onsite this week!

Thursday, July 3rd: Hello all – we had a nice run of good weather so we are back in effect – full steam ahead. We have some projections for when we will be starting pressure washing and painting / prep on Building #2.

With the recent rain delays, our crews have requested to work on Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th to help make up for lost time. This will help reduce the amount of time plastic remains covering resident windows over the weekend. We have gotten the go ahead for work to continue on July 4 and July 5. Next week there will be a walkthrough with the team on the carpentry work that has occurred on Building #2. Take a look at some of the handiwork on Building #1 below – the paint is really brightening up the building exteriors!

From all of us at Roell Painting Company – we wish you a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Thursday, June 26th: Hello to everyone! We’ve had some heavy rain over the last few days in the Twin Cities (Wednesday & Thursday), which definitely has made it difficult to make a lot of progress on the painting front. On a positive note, we are heading into the end of the week with some drier weather ahead of us. We’re hoping to get moving and take advantage of the rain free skies – check out the forecast below:

We’re hoping to get you a better update tomorrow / Monday that says we are back to some major painting and carpentry is moving ahead on Building #2.

Monday, June 23rd: Happy Monday! We hope you all survived the heat wave over the weekend and are ready for some more moderate summer temperatures this week.

Looking ahead, it looks like great painting weather continues into tomorrow but Wednesday and Thursday may bring some rain – so we are keeping our eyes on the weather report. After that, the long range forecast is looking pretty decent for the first week of July.

Today our RPC Carpentry Sr. Estimator, Trent, was on-site with the team from MacLaren Hill to walk through the carpentry completed on Building #1 and ensure all was done to satisfaction. There were a few areas for resolution but overall things looked pretty good.  While RPC was onsite we also took a look at some areas of Building #1 where we may need to add additional carpentry work as directed by the MacLaren Hill team.

Check out our photos from today’s walk. More to come later in the week!

Thursday, June 19th: Greetings all! Happy Thursday or Friday Jr. to all who celebrate.

We have finished preliminary carpentry repairs on Building #1 and our project team leadership will be meeting with MacLaren Hill building management on Monday next week to do a walk around to verify all areas needing repair have been completed.

In the meantime we will move over to the 2nd building and begin carpentry in order to keep ahead of the paint crew that is following behind.

A hot couple of days are ahead – we will be doing our best to hydrate and we hope that you find a nice place to cool off this weekend!

Wednesday, June 18th: Take a peek at the fun we’re having this week after the rain has slowed. More to come in the next day with an overall progress report!

Monday, June 16th: Hello all – we’re working on making progress this week but rain has definitely slowed us down mid-morning. We hope to get more progress as the skies lighten up after a lunchtime deluge!

Friday, June 13th: Friday is here and the crew has begun to follow the path of the carpentry team. Our crew has access to water and is also enjoying the rain that is falling from the sky today!

Here is an action shot of the pressure washing in action below:

Check back frequently for updates early next week – we hope you are able to find some sunshine on these dreary, rainy days.

Thursday, June 12th: Happy Thursday

The crews were out to begin pressure washing but there were water access issues which prevented us from beginning as planned. This is now resolved and so the pressure washing will begin tomorrow – June 13th.

Wednesday, June 11th: Happy Wednesday to all of you in Saint Paul!

Pressure washing is still planned for tomorrow and we’re excited to kick off this portion of the project. We should have some photos and another video update from the job site.

We hope you have been enjoying the start of the summer season!

Monday, June 9th: Hello residents! The crew has continued with carpentry repairs on Building#1 and is making good progress. We are hoping for a relatively good week without any rain delays! Take a look at a welcome video from our Project Manager, Danielle to get more details on the upcoming work.

The current plan is for pressure washing to begin behind the construction team and are looking at starting on the 1412/1410 (Building #1) on Thursday 6/12.

We are working on a notice to provide to your management company and they will be notifying all of you residents as well about what to expect.

Have a great week!

Tuesday, June 3rd: Rain may slow us down today but we hope to be resuming tomorrow!

Monday, June 2nd: Happy Monday and welcome to June! Today is hot and windy but we are working on Building #1 and making good time around the building. We will try to get more photos of the crew in progress mid-week and get a sense of when the pressure washing will plan to start on Building #1. Have a great start to your week!

Friday, May 30th: Happy Friday to all! Here are some progress photos of the work that has begun at MacLaren Hill. As you can see they are working on the part of the building that borders Carling Drive. Look for another update next week as we work to make our way around Building #1. Have a great weekend!

Thursday, May 29th: Greetings and welcome to the first day of the carpentry work on the project. It looks like we will have a few good days of weather and we’re hoping to make headway on the repairs!

Building #1 work is in progress – we will update you as we have more information on the schedule. It is a privilege to do work with and for you – thank you and thanks for your patience as we take care of improving your exteriors.

Tuesday, May 27th: Hello Residents of MacLaren Hill Apartments / Condominiums!

We hope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Carpentry work is planned to start on Thursday, May 29th. You can expect an update on Thursday and also Friday this week!

We’re excited to get the project started this week. Until next time…

Friday, May 23rd: Greetings Residents of MacLaren Hill Apartments / Condominiums!

Welcome to your project blog for the upcoming painting project. We are looking forward to refreshing your exteriors!

We anticipate the carpentry portion to take 1.5 to 2 weeks per building, depending on weather. The carpentry work is targeted to begin mid-week during the week of May 27th. Pressure washing will follow behind the carpentry work and we will communicate the start date for that when we have that available. To view additional information about the project, including the crews planned sequence / painting schedule or any weather-related delays, please visit this blog for frequent updates.

We kindly request that residents remove all personal items from your outdoor area so the crew can pressure wash and allow for safe and unobstructed access for repairs & washing. Please note that management is not responsible for damage to personal property.

The crew will complete the carpentry in order of the map above. The pressure washing will follow shortly afterwards, working behind the carpentry crew.  After the surfaces have been washed, the surface will need time to dry before the prep work begins. Overall, carpentry work is expected to take 4–6 weeks. However, work in your specific area will only take a few days. We will send additional notices before painting begins later this summer, so you can plan accordingly.

If you have any immediate questions or concerns, please contact the property manager if you live in the apartments (Buildings 1370/1410/1412) or board member Hernandez if you live in the condominiums (Buildings 1372/1390/1392).

We are looking forward to getting started and working with and for you again this spring and summer!
